East Wing Triolet

Rivers run from a nation’s eyes
as a monster claws out her heart.
A symbol shatters as she cries.
Rivers run from a nation’s eyes.
Hiding behind a tyrant’s lies
craven sycophants do their part.
Rivers run from a nation’s eyes
as a monster claws out her heart.
